- Details of Event
- He was getting off a girder, in connection with the ironwork under the incline from the pit lull to the ground level, on to a travelling road alongside it, when he evidently slipped and clutched a bare live electric cable with his right hand, killed. He had been specially warned of the danger of touching the cable, and had paint and ironwork in its vicinity when the current was switched off. There is no danger to the persons ordinarily employed, as the cables are 9 feet above, about 6 feet to the side of where they travel to and from the shafts.
