Roof fall. Mr John Campbell, colliery oversman, Milihall Farm, Millhall, by Stirling, was killed by a fall of stone in No.2 pit, Polmaise Colliery, Millhall about 9.15 am on Thursday. He was engaged clearing away a fall from the roof in the haulage road when another stone fell from the side of the road, pinning him to the ground. On being released he was found to be dead, death being due to a broken neck. (Stirling Observer).
