- 3 August 1921: Kelty Miner Killed - Brick Building Collapses - James Campbell (34), a miner lately residing at 1 Railway Row, North End, Kelty, died in Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital on Wednesday morning, as a result of injuries which he sustained while at work the previous day. Along with other workmen he was engaged in taking down a brick building at the Lindsay pit, Kelty, when part of the wall collapsed unexpectedly and fell upon Campbell. He sustained injuries to the head and body, and after being attended to by Dr Moir, he was removed to hospital where he succumbed the following morning at 2.30am. [Dunfermline Journal 6 August 1921]
