- 20 May 1915: Bathgate Miner Killed - George Campbell (27), miner, son of Mr and Mrs Campbell, Pentland View, Bathgate, has succumbed to injuries sustained in Riddochhill Pit. While working at the face he was struck down and enveloped in a quantity of debris. His left knee was fractured and his head severely injured. He died while being conveyed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. [Edinburgh Evening News 21 May 1915]
