- 1 May 1926: Linlithgow Mining Fatality - Henry Burns (63), mine oversman, residing at Burnside Cottages , Linlithgow, was knocked down by the carriage of the main haulage in No.6 Mine, Whitequarries, belonging to Scottish Oils, and sustained a compound fracture to the right leg and dislocation of the left hip. He was conveyed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he died on Saturday forenoon. [Scotsman 3 May 1926]
