Details of Event
A collier drew a sprag under some holed coal, and tried to wedge the coal down. Having failed to this he again began to hole without re-setting the sprag; and when doing so it suddenly fell from the face and buried him and the deceased, who was 4 ft. away removing loose coal. Burke died within an hour, and the collier was seriously injured.
