While repairing a brattice cloth, a horse drawing two empty tubs came through and knocked him down. He received injuries, but died of heart disease. The coroner's jury returned is verdict that ‘deceased’s death was caused by the accident, and that the accident was the primary cause of death.’ He died on 13th July, 1907.
