- Details of Event
- Fall of roof at the face in the Ras Las Seam, where a coal cutter was employed. It was his duty to set props along the face as the machine advanced, but having taken his dinner while the machine was working he got behind with his propping. Upon resuming work and while measuring for a prop a large stone fell from an unseen slip and killed him in on the spot. I pointed out that a youth of his age could not be considered suitable and proper person for such important work, and was promised that more mature and experienced men would be appointed for it in the future.
