Fall of side at face, cliff, 2ft. by 9ins. by 9ins. thick, fell and struck deceased on the forehead. He fell backwards off a stage, upon which he had been standing and alighted on a heap of stones. He had driven a heading in the seam, and was making room for a length of arching at or near the face. The top cone projected too far in, and be got on to a stage to cut it away. Directly he did so, a stone, which the cone had supported, fell. It was thought to be a slight accident at the time. He died five days after the accident. Nine feet seam.
