- Whilst holding a light for his collier, William Gulliver, who was engaged loosening a prop on the goaf side, the roof coal fell suddenly. The collier jumped clear of the fall but the deceased either stumbled in trying to escape or was caught with the coal, for he was knocked down on the face side and buried by a second fall of roof.
