- He took out a sprag at the buttock with the intention of falling some coal, but no coal fell. He then tried a ringer over the coal and brought down a length of 4 or 5 feet, and immediately after the roof above and over the fallen coal fell and killed him. Had a bar been fixed nearer the buttock before attempting to take down the coal the accident might have been avoided.
