- 24 March 1940: A formal verdict was returned on the death a young miner, 23-year old David Wright, 185 High Street, Kirkcaldy, who had his left leg torn off by a coal-cutting machine at the Frances Colliery Dysart on March 24, and died in hospital. [Evening Telegraph 10 May 1940]
