- Details of Event
- He and a corporal went up a rise gate with a pony and three empty tubs to bring down three full ones. The gate road dips 1 in 8 at the top portion for 60 yards and 1 in 6 at the bottom for 50 yards. The usual six lockers were put in the wheels of the tubs and they were taken by Wragge to the top of a steeper portion where a drag chain is usually attached. By some misunderstanding between the Driver and the corporal the drag chain was not attached and the tubs ran amain, killing Wragge. If he followed down behind the set the accident would not have happened. The man holes were in good order.
