- Details of Event
- Deceased was in charge of a disc coal-cutting machine. He was in front of the machine, and was in the act of removing a prop close to the coal face and immediately in front of the machine, in order to allow it to advance. As he knocked out the prop a large stone fell from the roof and inflicted injuries from which he died on 8th Sept. The stone fell from between two visible slips, 3 feet 6 inches apart, and extending 15 to 20 yards up and down the coal face.
