When working near an electric haulage engine-house, heavy rain came on he and others went into the enginehouse for shelter. When leaning on an iron fence surrounding the motor, he must have put his hand on the stator leads which carry a current of 1,750 volts. The leads were insulated but a small hole was found in the insulation after the accident and the deceased was seen to stretch his hand inside the iron fence in the direction of the motor and in the neighbourhood of the place where the fault was subsequently found.
