Inspection made and inquest attended. Two carpenters were upon a frame carrying a pulley which carries the winding rope between engine house and a main pulley. They were changing and putting a new rope on the capstan engine to pull it over the pulley shaft when the capping of the rope caught a fast hold of the pulley shaft and before the men could shout ‘hold’! The capstan engine pulled the frame and wheel down bodily and deceased fell under the frame and was fatally injured.
