24 February 1931: A mining fatality occurred last night in No.10 Pit, Lassodie, near Cowdenbeath, the victim being Thomas Woodrow, 75 Fairfield Lassodie. The deceased was completing his shift when the accident occurred, a heavy fall of stone crushing him to the pavement and inflicting terrible injuries to the skull. Deceased who was 56 years of age, is survived by a widow and family of seven. [Scotsman 25 February 1931]
