- Deceased was pulling a rate of coal off the face in the Yard Coal when the coal, coming more suddenly than expected, knocked out a prop; this was immediately followed by a large fall of roof, which reeled out two more props. Deceased was buried beneath the fall and killed instantly. The fall came from between a face break and a slip which rested upon the edge of the coal which deceased pulled these met at a point 24 feet up and were 3ft apart at the base, and the extreme length of the fall was 10 feet.
