Deceased was engaged drilling a shot-hole with a band machine drill in the roof near the edge of a small waste in the Cockshead seam, when, without previous warning, a stone, 18 feet long, 4.5 feet thick, and averaging 8 feet wide, reeled out three props and fell from an unseen break, killing him instantaneously.
