Whilst the deceased was clearing away dirt made by holing under the coal at a Longwall face, a piece of coal 5 feet 3 inches long, 2 feet 8 inches high, and 2 feet thick, came away suddenly from a smooth parting behind. In falling, the coal displaced the sprags and a prop, and inflicted fatal injuries on the deceased.
