- Details of Event
- The seam is thin and tub roads are made only 3 feet 6 inches high. In heavy places the putter is supplied with a helper-up. In this case a road dipped from the face 4.5 inches per yard. The putter needed help to get the empty tub in, but brought out the full tub with a drag in. There was a level place near the siding, and the patter said he left the full tub there with a drag in while he took the empty tub into the hewer. He expected the helper-up had gone out to the flat. On returning, he found his tub a few yards further out, on the heavy, and found deceased's head was fastened between the tub and a prop. A drag could not be found close to the tub, and it seems very likely that deceased was holding the tub back, when it got the better of him.
