30 October 1934: Fatal Accident In Fife Mine - Arthur Brunton (41), stone miner, Preston Street, High Valleyfield, received fatal injuries in a shot-firing accident at Valleyfield Colliery yesterday. He was found in the Milton Mine after a shot had been fired, and he succumbed to his injuries while being conveyed to the pithead. Brunton is survived by his widow and two children.
