- Details of Event
- A small engine driven by compressed air winds the loaded wagons up a short inclined plane. Owing to a peculiar arrangement the wire haulage rope has to be unhooked from the drum after each wind. On the day of the accident the foreman, who had just arrived at the dip top, pushed over a wagon which he thought was ready. Unfortunately the rope was lint attached to the drum and the wagon ran amain. The foreman was caught by the rope and dashed violently against the rock, fracturing his skull.
