Deceased was said to have been steadying a hanging scaffold in a sinking shaft while his brother climbed the chain by which it was attached to a rope from a hand crane in order to shift the attachment to another rope worked by a steam crane. Deceased apparently lost his balance and fell a distance of about 88 fathoms.
