A large fall of roof had taken place in an airway between two Longwall faces and affected the ventilation. Deceased, who was the Fireman, went there with two repairers and instructed them to clear the fall and make the place right. About two hours later, when examining the portion of airway that had been cleared, another fall of roof occurred and fatally injured the deceased. The fall displaced two stretcher bars and a prop.
