- Details of Event
- Deceased was taking three full tubs out-bye from the stall. For a distance of 50 yards the road dipped outbye half inch per yard and for this distance one locker was usually used to steady the tubs. For the next 63 yards the dip is 3.25 inches per yard and three additional lockers are required. Sling gears are used and the drivers are forbidden to ride on the tail chain. Deceased was found under the first tub at the bend at the bottom of the gate road. No lockers were found in the wheels He had apparently started from the stall riding on tailchain and without lockers. The pony went past the usual lockering place, and as there was not sufficient space between the tubs and side for deceased to get off he had to continue on the chains. Stop blocks have since been fixed at the lockering place.
