- Details of Event
- When a tub was being filled by Williams near to the working face, a fall of top coal and dirt thirty feet by twelve and a half feet by seven and a half feet occurred from the roof of an old drift and killed both him and Jones. Two slips were known to exist and props said to have been set from five to six feet apart were all knocked out by the fall. The old drift had been newly crossed in order to open another place off the side of it. This is a case where bars might have prevented the fall. 2 killed.
