- Details of Event
- He appears to have stumbled when, or just after, unhitching the horses used for drawing the railway trucks along the siding and falling across the rails both his legs were run over. He died from loss of blood and shock on his way to the hospital. First aid was available and the doctor said well applied, otherwise he would probably have bled to death before the arrival of the doctor at the works. It must be looked upon as a pure accident, as there was apparently no danger in the work, the road being in good order.
