Inspection made and inquest attended. A load of six feet props had been sent down the shaft lashed to the cage chains. The hooker-on at the bottom carelessly left one prop standing on top of the cage and after the cage had been signalled up the deceased in the top deck and the hooker on in the bottom deck the prop fell over and probably struck one of the bearers holing the wooded guides which caused the prop to pierce through the plank to of the cage and fatally injured deceased.
