Inspection made and inquest attended. In contravention of the bye-laws of the colliery the shot lighter allowed the collier to attach the cable to the fuse and the shot lighter appears to have fired the shaft without taking any steps to see that the collier was out of the way. He succumbed to the injuries on the 4th.
