Details of Event
He was acting as a rider when the accident occurred, and had been a regular rider previous to accepting work at the coal face. It is thought that he slipped off the chain coupling the rope to the trams just as he was reaching the brow at the top of the incline plane and fell under the trams. He died the same day.
