- While standing, about 12ft. above the floor of the quarry, upon a sloping bed of limestone, and moving stones down to the bottom. When he observed some of the stones above him slipping down, he ran to the bottom to get out of the way and fell striking his head. He was also struck by the rolling stones. He died on June 1st from his injuries.
