- Details of Event
- On road. rock 7ft. by 5.5ft. by 13ins. thick. Deceased had taken out a pair of timbers because the collar was bent and cracked. Three trams of rubbish fell which they cleared away. The place was examined and considered safe but when deceased were passing out to assist a rider to put a tram on the rails a fall occurred about nine feet from where the timber had been removed which crushed out a pair of timbers and buried deceased. This accident occurred on a parting that had been made many years ago, and was a long distance from coal working so it is difficult to understand what caused the roof to become uneasy. 2 killed.
