Deceased was at work at the face of a bord in the Maudlin Seam when a portion of a jud that had been loosened, but not blown down by a shot, fell and struck a middle prop which was supporting a plank 3 feet from the face. The prop slid plank were reeled out, and the latter struck deceased on the right arm and chest The lung was damaged by the blow, but he made favourable progress until gangrene was set up in the damaged lung, and he died on 3rd December, 1914.
