When tubs were being jigged in a short steep dip the rope attached to the empty tub got jammed fast under the end of a steeper about 6 yards from bottom of dip. The deceased pegged the brake of the jig-wheel down and went with three others to release the rope. They firmly lashed the empty tub to a post by a chain round the front axle. While they were liberating the rope it became unhooked and then the full tub ran down by the rope slipping round the pulley which was held fast by the brake the rope went twice round the pulley. The full tub caught deceased and killed him. They should have secured the full tub as well as the empty one.
