- Details of Event
- Due to a putter neglecting to place a loose chock across the top of a short dilly bank dipping 10 inches per yard, a full tub which he had left on a flat 4 yards from the chock got amain and collided with a full tub at the dilly bottom 13 yards away, causing the latter to run amain down the next dilly. This tub on reaching the bottom crashed into a full tub attached to the rope and then rebounded across into the level and crushed the deceased against a prop. There was apparently considerable laxity in the use of the chocks, which should have been put across the road as soon as every empty tub reached the bank head, and if this had been done the accident would not have occurred.
