Details of Event
A shot of rippite was attempted to be fired on the previous shift by the shot-firer but it missed. A second hole was drilled and charged and fired and did its work. The shot firer concluded it had exploded the missed shot. The deceased was cutting coal when he struck the detonator of the missed charge and it exploded and fatally injured him. Died 24th Sept.
