Deceased was killed by a fall of roof near the bottom of a dip crutt where he was employed as hooker-up on an endless rope. The fall was 1ft. 6ins. in thickness and extended over an area about 10ft. square. There were no slips at the sides, hut the fall came from a smooth parting under a thin seam of coal, and reeled out two settings of timber.
