Deceased was near to a landing on a plane worked by endless rope and was taking a set of four empty tubs from the rope into the landing when another set of four full tubs became detached from the rope and ran over him. He died the next day. The cause of the tubs becoming detached was the lever of the clip being knocked over by a set of full tubs standing on spring points. After the accident the manager decided to provide additional spring points to prevent detached tubs from running back. The gradient was 1 in 70.
