- Details of Event
- He was working under a loose stone about 13 feet long 6 feet wide and 2 feet thick at the thickest point. It was supported by two props set on the floor and a sprag set on some fallen coal. He was knocking out the sprag to replace it with another prop when the stone fell and displaced the two props, one of which struck him on the neck and killed him as he was making for a place of safety. The stone was not properly supported. It should nave been got down and broken up and the man should not have been working under it.
