- Deceased was engaged in clipping on full tubs to the main endless rope at a junction where the gradient of 1 in 22 against the load. The train of five full tubs ran back for about 15 yards and one was overturned at the points. The coal was turned out of the tubs and fell upon deceased breaking his leg. Amputation was found to be necessary and he died on the 24th December from septic poisoning. There was a catch 15 yards above the junction.
