Inspection made and inquest attended. He had unsuccessfully attempted fire a gelignite shot in a side caunch by means of an electric high tension battery and cable. The cable was then disconnected and after an hour's interval he returned to the shot which exploded on him. According to the evidence of his two sons were working 20 yards distant he had not time to unram the shot but his injuries clearly pointed to this a cause of the accident.
