- Details of Event
- Deceased, with others, was engaged in taking out low bars and replacing them with others. They had nearly finished for the shift and deceased was probably removing a jack leg, when a large fall occurred. A steel girder recently put in as a crossing or carrying bar gave way; five other bars which rested upon it, and five others near the crossing bar all collapsed. The fall measured 16 feet by 17 feet and extended to a height of 16 feet. Deceased was completely buried, and it, took four hours to recover his body.
