- Details of Event
- Deceased was killed by a fall of coal from a machine face. He had already drawn some sprags and dropped some coal. The loader was filling this coal and deceased had gone along the face cleaning hp holing dirt where the sprags were still in. While so doing a fall of about 15 cwt of coal occurred reeling out two sprags and rolling on deceased. A shot had been fired 9 feet 6 inches away some time previously and it is probable that the holed coal was shaken for sonic distance along, and that when deceased scraped out the dirt from the cutting the sprags could no longer hold the weight letting on them.
