- Details of Event
- A load had come off in a jig (inclination 1 in 2.8) owing to the jig chain breaking. A locker was put in each pair of wheels and the load replaced on the rails. An unsuccessful attempt to push the lockered load down the jig was made, and the deceased went in front, and assisted by three others, pushed back the tub and removed the lockers. The load overpowered turn and the others who were holding back, and he was forced to the bottom of the jig, a distance of 8 yards in front of the load. He was injured internally and died on the following day. The accident was the result of extreme rashness and foolhardiness, and direct contravention of Special Rule 103.
