- He was sitting behind a dour attending to his work, when a full tub ran amain and crashed through the dour. He was struck by the door and thrown against the coal side and his skull fractured. He died at home the same night. An empty tub bad been left standing by a putter and it crept away, and overtaking another putter caused him to let his full tub run amain. It ran through the flat which was not provided with stop chocks.
