Owing to the breaking of a collar in a stall in which deceased was unloading rubbish, a fall took place and he was buried by 20 or 30 tons of crushed black shale which smothered him. Three pairs of timber were displaced and the vacancy left by the fall measured 12.5ft. by 11.5ft. by 6.5ft. Nine feet seam.
