- Details of Event
- Deceased had just wedged off a piece of undermined coal when a sudden fall of roof occurred, which caught deceased and injured him so severely that he died within a few hours. The fall consisted of a bed of roof coal and overlying stone, and came away to two slips, one of which was bared by the coal got off the face. The place was supported by props, which, had they been capped by bars, would probably have prevented the accident.
