- Details of Event
- He had holed a split wall into an old upstanding bord room, in a seam rising 14 inches per yard. The seam was 6 feet thick, mid the bottom section 2.5 feet in thickness, had been removed the full width of the place, 3 yards. He had set a jud prop under the middle of the hanging coal, and had drilled and charged a hole to shoot down the top section, but had not withdrawn the pricker, when all the coal with tile exception of about 8 inches near to the roof canted out the jud prop and fell on to him. He died on the way home.
