When taking two trams of coal along an endless rope haulage road from the pit to the screens he stumbled, and falling in front of the trams was run over. The practice is to walk in front of the trams, holding the clip fast on the rope, which is apparently undesirable. He died on January 4th, 1910. I have been promised that this arrangement shall be altered in a short time.
